About

DTU Football is the official football club of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), located in Kongens Lyngby. The club offers opportunities for students and affiliates to engage in football at various skill levels.

The club was established in March 2023 by founders Jakob Kildegaard Hansen and Viktor Tønnes Hertz to bring football to DTU and provide students with a great social environment as well as a place to practice football.

The club has participated in two seasons of regular divisional football with both a men's and a women's team in the DBU divisions as of 2024. This has resulted in two promotions across the teams and a championship for the men's team, making them the Champions of Zealand (Sjælland) in 2024.

Collaboration with Lyngby Boldklub 1921 (LBK)

As of 2025, DTU Football has entered into a collaboration with LBK's senior department, participating in DBU divisional football under a collaboration name for all teams. Lyngby Boldklub competes in the Danish Superliga, the top tier of Danish football. The club has a reputation for developing young talent and prioritizing youth academy players, many of whom have gone on to play internationally.

Our teams now practice at LBK's training ground, located right beside DTU's Lyngby campus.

Teams

We currently have four teams:

  • Men's teams: 1st team (11-a-side) and 2nd team (8-a-side).
  • Women's teams: 1st team (11-a-side) and 2nd team (8-a-side).

For more information, visit the "Teams" tab at the top of the website.

Season Schedule

The length of the season depends heavily on the "grass season" in Denmark, which is when outdoor pitches are playable. The grass season starts in early April and ends in late October, with a summer break from the end of June to the start of August. During the active part of the grass season, we participate in DBU divisional football.

  • Fall Season: Early August to late October.
  • Spring Season: Early April to late June.

Membership and Fees

The membership fee is 600 DKK per semester. This fee covers tournament fees, equipment, and kits for competition. Players must provide their own cleats and shin guards for games and practice.

Prospective members are welcome to attend one free practice session to determine if the club suits their interests. To arrange a trial session, it's recommended to contact the club's administrators via their Facebook page or directly reach out to the chairman, Jakob K. Hansen, at s214952@student.dtu.dk, or the deputy chairman, Viktor T. Hertz, at s204837@student.dtu.dk.

Practice Facilities

Our teams practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00.

The practices take place on the pitches at LBK's training ground. Depending on scheduling, practices may take place on both artificial and natural grass.
