About

DTU Football is the official football club of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), located in Kongens Lyngby. The club offers students and affiliates the opportunity to play football at both competitive and recreational levels, while fostering a strong and inclusive social community.

Foundation

The club was founded in March 2023 by Jakob Kildegaard Hansen and Viktor Tønnes Hertz with the goal of creating a footballing home at DTU—one that emphasizes both performance and community. Since its founding, the club has rapidly grown in membership and achievements.

By 2024, DTU Football had completed two full seasons in the Danish Football Association (DBU) leagues with both men’s and women’s teams. Across these seasons, the teams have earned two promotions and one regional championship, with the men’s team becoming Champions of Zealand (Sjælland) in 2024.

Collaboration with Lyngby Boldklub 1921 (LBK)

As of 2025, DTU Football has entered into a formal collaboration with Lyngby Boldklub’s senior department, joining forces under a shared DBU registration for divisional matches. LBK is a historic Danish club who recently competed in the Danish Superliga, but has relegated and now plays in the second highest division in Denmark.

All DTU Football practices are now held at LBK’s training facilities, located right next to DTU’s Lyngby campus. This collaboration strengthens both the quality of training and the club’s access to resources.

Teams

We currently field the following teams:

  • Men’s 1st Team (11-a-side) – DBU Senior Series 3

  • Men’s 2nd Team (11-a-side) – DBU Senior Series 6

  • Women’s 1st Team (11-a-side) – DBU Women’s Senior Series 1

During these periods, our teams participate in official DBU divisional matches and practice two times a week.
